What is Suboxone?
Suboxone is a prescription medicine for opioid use disorder. It contains buprenorphine, which settles on the same spots in the brain as other opioids, but in a steady, controlled way. That stops withdrawal and quiets cravings without the high.
It also contains naloxone, which discourages misuse. Taken as prescribed, you mostly will not notice it. That is part of why Suboxone can be prescribed at a regular office visit and taken at home.
